Questions about his personal life still hang over him, but that doesn't seem to have made him any less bankable. His next role is in the forthcoming film, Someone I Used to Know from director Dave Franco. Skerritt credits Tony Scott for showing him the ropes on the set of Top Gun, allowing him to learn about life behind the camera.
